Job summary

Public Service Company of New Mexico (PNM) is seeking an Information Security Specialist (Cyber Engineer) to advance our security program. Under general supervision, you will plan, coordinate, and implement measures to safeguard information against unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.

Key duties include leading vulnerability management, enforcing information protection policies, supporting incident response, and coordinating audits with Compliance and IS teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Resource Management, Business Computer Systems, Computer Science or Computer Security with five to seven years related experience.
• Security certifications or experience in information protection.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment, policy development, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains an effective Vulnerability Management program through review, planning, tracking, and reporting.
• Develops, implements, maintains, and enforces information protection policies, standards, and practices.
• Develops and provides recommendations to management for information protection architecture and program.
• Develops, implements, supports and maintains employee training and awareness programs for information protection and security.
• Partners with IS Review Board and Audit Services to address information protection issues to the satisfaction of all entities.
• Develops working relationships with management to gain support for policy enforcement.
• Manages the IS staff and projects to ensure effective administration of security activities.
• Manages and reports regularly on all IS projects and activities.
• Works with Security Administrators and Technical staff to ensure preventive and detection controls are in place.
• Assists in contingency planning and testing to ensure data is recoverable and protected.
• Coordinates security-related audits involving systems, networks, and data.
• Participates in risk assessment activities and new software development projects to ensure data security.
• Implements access control and business recovery procedures in IT implementations.
