Qualifications

• US Citizen in the Tampa Bay area.
• 2+ years incident detection, incident response, and forensics.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related field.
• Experience with Cloud/SaaS/Networking and MDR/NGFW/SIEM/SOAR/Cloud Security.
• Cloud experience, with Microsoft Azure preferred.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node, Go, or PowerShell.
• 1+ years performing cyber security assessments.

Responsibilities

Job description

Concertium is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer for a night shift role in Tampa, FL. This position supports the protection of Concertium’s and clients’ data and environments through monitoring, security controls, vulnerability testing, and incident response within a 24x7 operational schedule.

Role Overview

The Cyber Security Engineer will help safeguard systems and networks by planning and managing security measures, investigating security events, and responding to breaches. The role also requires staying current with the cyber-threat landscape and applying relevant frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK to guide analysis and response activities. Shift work is required in a continuous environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security controls to protect Concertium’s data, systems, and environment.
• Troubleshoot solutions for security challenges.
• Respond to all system and/or security breaches.
• Recommend and enable appropriate security controls to protect Concertium and client data and infrastructures.
• Participate in change and configuration management processes.
• Test and identify vulnerabilities in networks and systems.
• Complete daily administrative tasks, including reporting and communication with relevant departments.
• Research weaknesses and develop countermeasures.
• Develop security best practices and cyber security standards for Concertium and clients.
• Use SIEM/SOAR/XDR/EDR and other emerging tools to monitor alerts and security events across client networks and systems, including tools such as ConnectWise, Security Onion, Sentinel One, Microsoft Sentinel, SureShield, CrowdStrike, and DUO.
• Maintain and improve cyber security expertise continuously.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education

• US Citizen and located in the Tampa Bay area.
• 2+ years of work experience with incident detection, incident response, and forensics.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or a related qualification.
• Experience analyzing and administering Cloud/SaaS/Networking and network security solutions, including Managed Detection and Response, Next Gen Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, SOAR, Cloud Security, Endpoint Security, and Vulnerability and Penetration Testing services.
• Experience with Cloud solutions, with Microsoft Azure preferred, along with networking, firewalls, monitoring, countermeasures, Office 365 Security, VMware, SIEM, vulnerability management, ticketing systems, and endpoint security.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node, Go, and/or PowerShell.
• 1+ years of experience performing cyber security assessments.
• Ability to prioritize projects and triage cyber security events and/or incidents.
• Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and critical thinking skills.
• Awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques, with understanding of enterprise best practices implementation.
• Knowledge of compliance processes and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, PCI, and NIST-800 is preferred but not required.
• Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, CDPSE, or CISM are desired.

Shift, Location, and Schedule

• Location: Tampa, FL (hybrid). Work location listed as Tampa, FL 33607.
• Shift requirement: Willingness to work shift work in a 24x7 environment.li>
• Expected hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week.
• Schedule: Sunday through Monday, 12:00am–6:00am EST.
• Travel: Little to no travel expected.

Salary

USD 75,000 - 85,000 per year.
