Description

WhoisXML API is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join our Security Operations Team. This role is ideal for a security professional who is passionate about developing security strategies and implementing best practices to protect the entire organization, including its digital products, infrastructure, and people, from cyber threats. You will be pivotal in strengthening our overall security posture and ensuring comprehensive protection across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security assessments, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and risk analysis, to identify and mitigate risks.
• Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing measures to prevent future occurrences.
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and leadership to integrate security into all aspects of the organization’s operations and development.
• Assist in creating and enforcing security policies, procedures, and standards that comply with frameworks like NIST, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.
• Provide security training and education to staff on best practices and incident response procedures to promote a culture of security awareness.
• Implement and manage security controls in cloud environments.

Basic Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Security Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, and information security management.
• Experience with security assessments, incident response, and implementing security solutions across an organization.
• Experience in implementing and managing security in cloud environments.
• Proven track record of enhancing security postures and effectively managing security projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experiences

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on securing enterprise-level infrastructure and operations.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, or similar.
