Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to support enterprise endpoint security, including WDAC/AppLocker policy design and troubleshooting across diverse environments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, tune and troubleshoot application control policies enterprise-wide.
• Manage application whitelisting using WDAC, AppLocker, ThreatLocker, or Airlock Digital.
• Analyze endpoint telemetry, Windows event logs, and diagnostic data to troubleshoot blocks.
• Oversee Defender for Endpoint sensors, health, and policy troubleshooting.
• Investigate security alerts, endpoint health issues and malware detections.
• Configure Defender Antivirus/EDR exclusions and agent onboarding.

The selected professional will drive policy design, tuning, and troubleshooting across various corporate environments. This position requires strong technical expertise with endpoint telemetry, diagnostic analysis, and modern security platform operations.Key Responsibilities* Design, implement, tune, and troubleshoot application control policies across the enterprise environment.* Manage application whitelisting utilizing platforms such as Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC), AppLocker, ThreatLocker, or Airlock Digital.* Analyze and troubleshoot execution blocks using endpoint telemetry, Windows event logs, and diagnostic data.* Oversee endpoint security systems including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, ensuring proper sensor health, compliance monitoring, and policy troubleshooting.* Investigate security alerts, endpoint health issues, malware detections, and protection-status discrepancies.* Perform Defender Antivirus and EDR exclusions, configuration management, and agent onboarding.* Utilize KQL and Advanced Hunting tools for investigation, threat hunting, and validation activities.* Deploy and manage endpoint security policies through Intune and MECM/SCCM.* Maintain version control for policies, scripts, and documentation using GitHub or similar repositories.* Develop and update operational runbooks, checklists, root-cause analyses, and audit evidence.Required Qualifications**Education:** Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent technical training.**Experience:** Mid-to-senior level experience in cybersecurity engineering focusing on endpoint defense, policy administration, and enterprise threat detection.**Technical Skills:** Deep understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux (RHEL) operating systems, combined with hands-on proficiency in WDAC, AppLocker, Defender for Endpoint, and KQL.
