Overview: The Cybersecurity Engineer ensures information assurance and compliance by designing, integrating, implementing, modifying, and coordinating the installation, testing, operation, and disposition of hardware and software systems. Responsibilities include conducting analysis, developing functional and technical requirements and specifications, documentation, monitoring the availability, serviceability, and recoverability of security systems, implementing cybersecurity procedures and tools, maintaining system configurations, managing system patches, updates, and enhancements, and ensuring adherence to information security policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Safeguards information systems by identifying potential and actual security problems.
  • Protects systems by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
  • Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities, reporting violations, and mitigating vulnerabilities.
  • Implements security improvements by assessing current situations, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements.
  • Conducts periodic audits to identify security violations and inefficiencies.
  • Upgrades systems by implementing and maintaining security controls.
  • Performs routine system checks and security assessments; prepares performance reports; communicates system status.
  • Maintains quality service by following organizational standards.
  • Assists in developing, maintaining, and implementing security procedures and protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience (10 years in IT with 5 years in IT Security).
  • Experience: 5 years.
  • Licensure/Certification: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) - Obtain within 12 months.
