Job description

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will ensure that the business is protected against cyber security threats and that data is always kept secure. This will involve proactive planning, rapid responses to security threats and incidents, and serving as an escalation point for team members. You will collaborate with the business and IT teams to provide governance and security for existing and new services. Your responsibilities include cyber security operations such as threat monitoring, incident prevention and response, and supporting the implementation of new cyber security technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Take full ownership of incidents escalated by Analyst level 1 or the SOC and control the quality of actions performed.
2. Investigate and analyze cybersecurity incidents and implement follow-up actions.
3. Develop and enhance tools supporting daily cyber security operations.
4. Assist in modeling new attack scenarios.
5. Coordinate regional cyber response activities with IT and business stakeholders and contribute to global efforts.
6. Build response instructions, execute containment measures, and document incidents using the SOAR platform.
7. Conduct threat hunting activities based on collected intelligence.
8. Perform cyber forensics activities as needed, including malware analysis.
9. Work during on-call periods.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Learn through experimentation, using successes and failures as learning opportunities.
• Experience working with technology teams to resolve security incidents.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management in crisis situations.
• Experience in threat hunting and digital forensics on computers, servers, or network assets.
• Strong knowledge of information security principles, including architecture, network & systems security, forensic analysis, risk assessment, and secure software development.
• Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework, NIST, and OWASP.
• Understanding of vulnerabilities and remediation techniques; penetration testing experience is a plus.
• Experience in automating incident response processes; Threat Intelligence and CERT/CSIRT activities are preferred.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, REGEX, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
• GIAC certifications (e.g., GCFA, GREM, GNFA) are a plus.
