MANTECH is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our team in Springfield, VA. You will protect critical systems and lead CSOC activities, providing expert analysis, incident response, and technical support to ensure the security of mission-critical infrastructure.

The role requires a minimum of five years in cybersecurity with emphasis on incident response and malware detection, plus active IAT Level II certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; 4+ years of cybersecurity experience considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum five years in cybersecurity, especially incident response and malware detection.
  • Active IAT Level II certification such as GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA-Security.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and CSOC tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and advanced support for CSOC, managing cyber and network sensor activities to detect and analyze threats effectively.
  • Perform security event and incident correlation by analyzing data from multiple enterprise sources to identify breaches or vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct cyber incident triage to assess scope, urgency, and impact, while identifying vulnerabilities and remediation strategies.
  • Track cyber incidents from detection through resolution, analyzing potential damage to data and infrastructure to inform response actions.
  • Perform cyber engineering trend analysis, produce detailed reports, and support 24x7 mission operations to ensure continuous security monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure ongoing monitoring, response readiness, and improvement of security protocols.

About The Role

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-oriented Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our dynamic team in Springfield, VA. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for protecting critical systems and networks from evolving cyber threats. You will lead and support Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) activities, providing expert analysis, incident response, and technical support to ensure the security and integrity of our clients' mission‑critical infrastructure. This role requires a proactive individual who can operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment, leveraging advanced analytical skills and cybersecurity expertise to detect, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents promptly. As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, contribute to security strategy development, and ensure continuous operational readiness to safeguard sensitive data and systems.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education, experience, and certifications that demonstrate their capability to excel in this role. A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred; however, candidates with 4+ years of additional cybersecurity experience can be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of five years of cybersecurity experience, particularly in incident response and malware detection, is required. Candidates must hold an active IAT Level II certification such as GSEC, Security+, SSCP, or CCNA‑Security. Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems, along with a working knowledge of current commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) cybersecurity technologies, is essential. A solid understanding of database and operating system security concepts, along with familiarity with the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols, is necessary to succeed in this role.
