Job summary

Sureserve is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to protect and strengthen the organisation's security posture. You will respond to incidents, manage cyber risks, and support governance and security operations within a hands-on role.

Working closely with the Group Head of Cyber Resilience and Security, you will influence security controls, drive improvements, and ensure alignment with industry standards while collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cyber security operations, incident response, risk and vulnerability management.
• Ability to investigate security alerts and incidents using security tools.
• Knowledge of Microsoft security technologies (Entra ID, Defender, Conditional Access, Sentinel).
• Understanding of IAM, networking, cloud services, endpoint security and enterprise security best practices.
• Experience supporting security compliance and governance activities.

• Investigate and respond to cyber security incidents with effective containment and resolution.
• Monitor and improve security controls, processes and ways of working.
• Support vulnerability management activities and coordinate with technical teams to reduce risk.
• Conduct security and risk assessments across projects, systems, and third-party suppliers.
• Help maintain compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
• Promote security awareness and a positive security culture across the business.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues across the organisation.

We're looking for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to help protect and strengthen our organisation's security posture while supporting the day-to-day operation of our Cyber Security function. Working closely with the Group Head of Cyber Resilience and Security, you'll play a key role in responding to security incidents, managing cyber risks, improving security controls, and helping ensure compliance with industry standards. This is a hands‑on role that offers a blend of technical security operations, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

• Proven experience within a Cyber Security role, ideally covering security operations, incident response, risk, and vulnerability management


• Experience investigating security alerts, incidents, and suspicious activity using security tools and technologies


• Knowledge of Microsoft security technologies, including Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Sentinel


• A good understanding of identity and access management, networking, cloud services, endpoint security, and enterprise security best practices


• Experience supporting security compliance and governance activities


• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of audiences


• The confidence to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders alike


• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CySA+, SC-200, or similar would be advantageous, although practical experience and the ability to demonstrate real‑world cyber security expertise are more important
