Job summary

Dexian is seeking a security operations professional with hands-on web application security experience for a fully onsite role in Charlotte, NC (Ballantyne) or Addison, TX or Denver, CO. The candidate will analyze security and web logs, perform intrusion detection, and develop alerts and dashboards in Splunk to identify exploits and attack patterns.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in web app security, strong scripting and regex skills, and working knowledge of Linux/Windows/macOS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year of experience in Web Application Security.
• Strong background in intrusion detection and analysis.
• Hands-on experience analyzing web application and security logs from a security perspective.
• Strong Splunk experience, including creating alerts, dashboards, macros, and correlation searches.
• Ability to identify common exploits and attack patterns from web and security event logs.
• Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, and macOS environments.
• Experience with scripting languages and Regex.
• Strong understanding of common network protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS.
• Understanding of enterprise client/server architecture.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and investigative skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced security operations environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year of experience in Web Application Security.
• Strong background in intrusion detection and analysis.
• Hands-on experience analyzing web application and security logs from a security perspective.
• Strong Splunk experience, including creating alerts, dashboards, macros, and correlation searches.

• Experience with scripting languages and regular expressions (Regex).
• Strong understanding of common network protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, etc.
• Understanding of enterprise client/server architecture.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and investigative skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced security operations environment.

Preferred / Desired Skills

• Experience interpreting Apache, IIS, Active Directory, and other security logs.
• Strong understanding of modern web application architecture and deployments.
• Knowledge of common web application attacks, including:
• Cross-Site Scripting (XSS)
• Remote File Inclusion (RFI)
• Understanding of stateful firewalls and firewall rule analysis.
• Experience detecting anomalous or malicious network data transmissions.
• Experience with advanced security analytics and threat detection tools.
• Threat hunting and incident response experience.
• Financial services or banking industry experience is a plus.
