Job Overview

EY is seeking a skilled Microsoft Purview and Defender for Office Operations Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This role involves administration, management, and optimization of Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender for Office platforms, emphasizing data governance, compliance, and security best practices. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our information protection posture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Administration: Support and administer Microsoft Purview and Defender for Office, ensuring optimal performance and security configurations.
2. Data Governance and Compliance: Implement and monitor data governance policies, compliance metrics, and DLP strategies.
3. User Support: Provide technical assistance and best practices to end-users.
4. Collaboration and Communication: Work with IT, security, and compliance teams; report on incidents and improvements.
5. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on platform features, automate processes using scripting and automation tools.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain records of configurations and generate performance and compliance reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview and Defender for Office.
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security practices.
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python).
• Experience with ServiceNow ticketing and change management.
• Relevant certifications are a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DLP technologies, GDPR, HIPAA, and cloud security.
