Job summary

GBL Systems Corporation, based in Camarillo, CA, seeks an experienced Cyber Risk Manager to lead RMF implementation, DoD security compliance, and secure network deployments. The role requires hands-on cyber and systems administration expertise across Windows/Linux, virtualization, AD/Azure, and security tooling.

The ideal candidate will manage firewalls, SIEM, vulnerability workflows, and cloud security, while collaborating with government sponsors and management.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of experience in Cybersecurity and Systems Administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related technical field.
  • Certifications such as CISM, CCNP-Security, CASP, or Security+ are preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) is a plus.
  • Experience testing and implementing DoD STIGs, applying IAVA/IAVM patches, performing security scans.
  • Active Security Clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge, implementation and management of Firewalls; Endpoint Protection, Detection and Response; Data Loss Prevention.
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), ACAS and similar security management tools.
  • Managed Cryptographic Item (CCI) management and cryptographic mechanisms.
  • Promote user security training and awareness; document remediation efforts.
  • Perform security assessments and vulnerability scans; monitor configurations and incidents.
  • Continuously monitor security alerts and logs and mitigate incidents.
  • Apply RMF for Information Systems and NIST 800-171/800-53 controls.
  • Implement and maintain security for cloud environments (AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP).
  • Configure and maintain complex network and multi-server environments for secure access.

Job description

GBL Systems Corporation is a leading systems engineering and software development firm with a 30+ year history of providing technical support to the U.S. Government in the areas of Avionics / Armament Systems, Electronic Warfare, Network Centric Warfare and Modeling & Simulation.GBL is based in Camarillo, CA and currently is seeking an experienced Cyber Risk Manager.

Qualified candidates should have a strong understanding of both system administration and cybersecurity, DoW Risk Management Framework, Information Assurance and NIST Cybersecurity Framework processes. Qualified candidates shall have experience in Windows and Linux server management, virtualization and containerization; Active Directory and Azure; applying Security Technical Implementation Guides; Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) / vulnerability lifecycle management; patch management; and hands‑on experience with networking and security appliances. Please note: this position also requires the candidate to be responsible for configuring and implementing the cybersecurity environment.

Successful applicants should have the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all management levels and government sponsors, the personality to support team goals, and the ability to work independently without close supervision. Applicants should exhibit strong interpersonal and oral/written communications skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge, implementation and management of Firewalls; Endpoint Protection, Detection and Response; Data Loss Prevention
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), ACAS and similar security management tools and appliances
  • Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCI) management/cryptographic mechanisms;
  • Promoting user security training and awareness
  • Assists in the development, maintenance and documentation of security operations procedures, processes, standards, incident reporting and documenting remediation efforts
  • Perform security assessments and vulnerability scans to ensure that system security configurations are properly implemented, monitored and reported
  • Continuous monitoring of security alerts and logs and mitigating incidents
  • Knowledge of security risk management, tools, methodologies and implementation to comply with NIST 800-171, NIST 800-161, NIST 800-53
  • Implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for Information Systems
  • Knowledge to implement and maintain security for cloud‑based IT. This includes the knowledge of the FedRAMP marketplace, AWS GovCloud, and Office GCC enclaves or similar solutions
  • Applying Zero Trust security
  • Design, setup and configure complex networking environments that support secured access
  • Configuring, installing and maintaining virtual management systems
  • System Administration-level duties to include domain management, server management, remediation of user workstation issues, access control, cabling, patch panel management, IAVA remediation, IP Routing, DMZ, VPN, etc
  • Design, setup, configure and maintain complex networking and multi-server environments that support secure access, telecommunications, video and backup solutions
Job Qualifications:

Minimum three years of experience in Cybersecurity and Systems Administration

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related technical field

  • Hands on experience with IDS/IPS products, network protocol and packet analysis tools, penetration testing, security tools or vulnerability management tools such as HBSS, SCAP, Nessus, SIEM
  • CISM, CCNP-Security, CASP, and/or Security+ certification

Knowledge and experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) is a plus

  • Experience testing and implementing DoD STIGs, applying IAVA/IAVM patches, performing security scans
  • Active Security Clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility
