Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Consulting Associate for our Cyber Risk and Data Protection practice in the Cedar Rapids area. You will join security and privacy teams to address client needs across environments, performing risk assessments, testing, and remediation guidance.

The role includes training in our consulting solution practices, engagement economics, and delivery skills. Candidates bring a technical cybersecurity background and strong communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum BA/BS in CS/IT or related from an accredited university by start date.
• Technical background in cybersecurity and computer networks.
• Strong knowledge of protocols, forensics and threat intelligence.
• Programming or scripting experience (Python, Java, Perl, etc.).
• Ability to communicate findings to non-technical audiences.
• High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess client networks, hosts, and applications for security posture.
• Identify threats, assess impact, and provide remediation guidance.
• Test mobile/web apps and services for security weaknesses.
• Perform penetration testing using multiple methodologies.
• Review configurations with manual and automated tools.
• Measure client compliance with industry/government requirements.
• Identify compromised data sources and threat indicators.
• Investigate threat actors and campaigns from intelligence data.
• Communicate technical findings to stakeholders clearly.
• Support development of threat intelligence programs for clients.
