Job summary

AnaVation, LLC is seeking a Cyber Planner to support cyberspace operational planning within the National Capital Region. The role focuses on integrating cyber capabilities into operations and contributing to joint planning processes.

You will develop planning products, coordinate actions with diverse teams, and provide analytical support to planners and leadership. This is a full-time on-site position in Maryland with a focus on cybersecurity operations.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with TS/SCI w/Poly clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree or COPC or related experience.
• 4+ years of DoD/military/cyberspace operations planning experience.
• Knowledge of operational planning concepts and processes.
• Understanding of cyberspace operations and cyber threats.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of operational planning products (OPLANs, OPORDs, FRAGOs, CONOPS).
• Support targeting selection, validation, synchronization, and deconfliction for cyberspace operations.
• Support integration of cyber capabilities with operational objectives and target requirements.
• Coordinate planning actions with operations, intelligence, targeting, SMEs, and stakeholders.
• Apply cyberspace tactics, techniques, and procedures to planning and threat mitigation.
• Support joint fires planning and coordination per applicable policies and procedures.
• Participate in planning forums and exercises.
• Translate technical cyber capabilities into operational planning considerations.
• Identify operational requirements and capability gaps for future ops.
• Develop staff products, briefings, lessons learned, and recommendations.

Description of Task to be Performed:

AnaVation is seeking a Cyber Planner to support one of our cybersecurity programs within the National Capital Region.

The Cyber Planner will support cyberspace operational planning and the integration of cyber capabilities into operations. The position will contribute to the Joint Operation Planning Process (JPP), targeting, joint fires coordination, capability pairing, threat mitigation and other operational requirements.

The successful candidate will apply foundational knowledge of cyberspace operations, joint planning, targeting, and cyber threats to develop planning products, coordinate assigned activities, and provide analytical support to planners and leadership. This position supports cyberspace operational planning activities in accordance with established planning processes and guidance.

Responsibilities include:

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of OPLANs, OPORDs, FRAGOs, CONOPS, courses of action, concepts of support, and other operational planning products.
• Support targeting selection, development, validation, synchronization, and deconfliction activities associated with cyberspace operations.
• Support the integration and pairing of cyber capabilities with operational objectives and target requirements.
• Coordinate assigned planning actions with operations, intelligence, targeting, technical SMEs, and other stakeholders.

• Assist capability SMEs and planners in translating technical cyber capabilities into operational planning considerations.
• Identify and document operational requirements, capability gaps, and planning considerations for future operations.
• Support the development of staff products, briefings, assessments, lessons learned, and recommendations.
• Support applicable cyberspace operations review and approval processes in accordance with governing policy and guidance.
• Perform other related planning and analytical duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Clearance: U.S. Citizen; TS/SCI w/Poly.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Cyberspace Operational Planners Course (COPC), or related experience.
• Certification: (Moved the certifications required to the pre-screen portion as they were too customer descriptive)
• Location: Full-time on-site in MD.
• Experience and knowledge:
  • 4+ years of relevant experience supporting DoW, military, intelligence, cyberspace operations, or related planning activities.
  • Foundational knowledge of operational planning concepts and operation planning process.
  • Understanding of cyberspace operations and the role of cyber capabilities.
  • Familiarity with cyber threats, adversary tactics and techniques, and vulnerabilities affecting operational environments.
  • Knowledge of military organizational structures, staff processes, and operational planning terminology.
  • Ability to communicate technical and operational information clearly through written products, briefings, and verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clearance: Active TS/SCI w/Poly
• Education: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, National Security, or a related field.
• Certification: DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II or equivalent certification
• Experience and Knowledge:
  • Experience supporting future operations planners in integrating capabilities into operational plans.
  • Experience supporting OCO, Joint fires, cyber targeting, or related planning activities.
  • Experience supporting DoD exercises or operational planning events.
  • Familiarity with target systems analysis, and capability pairing.
  • Experience developing staff products, briefings, lessons learned, or operational assessments.
  • Relevant military education, cyber/targeting training, or equivalent professional development.

$65,269.52 - $150,826 a year

Please note: The listed salary range reflects our market-based compensation structure. Final compensation will depend on business needs, local market conditions, internal equity, and the selected candidate’s skills, education, and experience.
