The Computer Network Defense Analyst role requires experience in network design, cybersecurity, vulnerability analysis, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Level 1: Associate's Degree with 4 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience
• Level 2: Associate's Degree with 7 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience, Master's Degree with 3 years of experience, or PhD with 2 years of experience
• Level 3: Associate's Degree with 10 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience, Master's Degree with 6 years of experience, or PhD with 4 years of experience
• Level 4: Associate's Degree with 13 years of experience or Bachelor's Degree with 11 years of experience, Master's Degree with 9 years of experience, or PhD with 7 years of experience
• All Levels: 18 semester hours of military training/coursework in networking, computer science, or cyber topics is equivalent to an Associate's degree
• Degree must be in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (e.g., General Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Forensics, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Information Assurance, or Computer Security)

Responsibilities

• Utilize information from intrusion detection systems, firewalls, network traffic logs, and host system logs to identify potential vulnerabilities, respond to cyber events, and defend against threats.
• Develop mitigations to strengthen network defenses and protect against attacks on network infrastructure devices or systems.
• Support data transport methods including wired networks, wireless transport, and collaborative platforms like video teleconferencing, plus supporting hardware and software.
