JFL Consulting, LLC is seeking a Cyber Defense/Network Security Engineer to lead site configurations across secure government environments. The role emphasizes configuring, deploying, and optimizing Linux and Windows systems on-site, with hardware implementation and secure environment integration.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with servers, virtualization technologies, and scripting while applying DoD cybersecurity practices in RMF/STIG contexts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a systems engineering or infrastructure role.
• Experience with AD, DNS, SSO, and authentication protocols.
• Hands-on with virtualization platforms (ESXi, Hyper-V, Proxmox).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP desirable).

Responsibilities

• On-site configuration of servers, storage, and networking hardware in secure environments.
• Deploy, configure, and support Linux and Windows systems.
• Build and manage virtualized environments using Proxmox, VMware ESXi, and Hyper-V.
• Apply system hardening, patching, logging, and backup strategies.
• Operate security platforms (Security Onion, Zeek, Suricata, Wazuh, Splunk, Elastic Stack).
• Support incident response, security audits, and RMF/STIGs compliance.
• Document networks and systems with diagrams and baselines.
