Job summary

Solutions³ LLC is seeking a Network Based Systems Analyst II to support a government cyber defense program. The role focuses on investigating breaches, developing mitigation plans, and coordinating with enterprise cyber defense teams to validate alerts.

The candidate will perform trend analysis, event correlation, and daily reporting while leveraging IDS tools such as Snort and the SiLK tool suite to identify malicious activity and drive remediation actions.

Qualifications

• Must have US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Minimum 2+ years of directly relevant cyber defense analysis experience.
• Experience developing and deploying signatures for cyber defense.
• Experience detecting host and network-based intrusions via IDS technologies (e.g., Snort).
• Experience implementing incident handling methodologies and protocol analyzers.
• Experience collecting data from various cyber defense resources and reading signatures (e.g., Snort).
• Experience performing packet-level analysis and trend analysis.

Responsibilities

• Characterize and analyze network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to network resources.
• Coordinate with enterprise-wide cyber defense staff to validate network alerts.
• Document and escalate incidents with history, status, and potential impact for action.
• Perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting.
• Perform event correlation using information from multiple sources to gain situational awareness of attacks.
• Provide daily summary reports of network events relevant to cyber defense practices.
• Receive and analyze network alerts and determine possible causes of alerts.
• Provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of possible attacks, intrusions, and misuse activities.

Education

BS Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, or related degree; or HS Diploma and 4+ years of network investigations experience
