Job summary

Peraton seeks a Journeyman Cyber Security Analyst to support SITEC-3 EOM at Fort Bragg, NC. You will defend USSOCOM's global operations, mentor junior analysts, and enhance SOC capabilities with advanced threat detection, investigations, and incident response.

You will work in a 24/7 SOC environment with rotating shifts, collaborating with SOC, IT staff, and stakeholders to ensure resilience and secure networks and systems.

Qualifications

• Must have DoD TS with SCI clearance.
• DoW 8140 compliance under Work Role Code 532 - Cyber Defense Incident Responder- Intermediate or higher.
• Strong cybersecurity concepts including threat detection, malware analysis, and network security.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection solutions, and forensic analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to handle complex incidents.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze sophisticated threats using SIEM platforms, IDS, and other advanced tools.
• Correlate data from multiple sources to uncover advanced threats and attack patterns.
• Refine detection rules and alerts to enhance threat identification capabilities.
• Lead high-priority security incidents, including coordinating containment, eradication, and recovery strategies.
• Advanced root cause analysis and delivering actionable recommendations for future mitigation.
• Create detailed post-incident reports to inform strategy and resilience.
• Lead audits and assessments, providing recommendations to enhance compliance and streamline processes.
• Secure NetOps and systems/network infrastructure against evolving threats.
• Mentor junior analysts and lead SOC initiatives.
• Collaborate with SOC team members and stakeholders to develop coordinated threat responses.
• Contribute to cross-functional discussions to drive SOC improvements.
• Commit to ongoing learning about threats and best practices to enhance SOC capabilities.
• Develop tools, techniques, and strategies for improved operations.
• Deliver training sessions to elevate team knowledge and preparedness.
• Operate in a 24/7 SOC environment with shift work as needed.
• Handle sensitive and classified information in compliance with DoD and USSOCOM requirements.
