Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cyber Defense Analyst to join a joint Contractor-Government Cyber Protection Team supporting Ft. Meade, MD.

The role focuses on configuring and optimizing intrusion detection systems, integrating network sensors, and conducting threat analysis to identify and mitigate cyber threats. The ideal candidate has a TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance, a strong incident response background, and SOC experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (9+ years)
• Digital Forensics of Windows, Linux and networking devices
• Incident Response Team Experience: leading or supporting detection, containment and recovery
• SOC Analyst Tier 2/3 expertise in investigating threats and refining responses
• Cyber Protection Team knowledge: defending systems, networks and data

Responsibilities

• Configure and optimize host and network intrusion detection systems
• Integrate and manage network sensors
• Conduct threat analysis using diverse sources
• Configure and design deployable network kits for seamless integration
• Malware triage and threat emulation to assess defenses
• Threat hunting to identify advanced threats
• Provide security recommendations with technical writeups
