Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM is seeking a Cyber Counterintelligence Officer to provide cyber expertise for CI investigations and operations supporting national security missions. You will evaluate cyber intelligence, draft reports, and work with interagency partners to outpace evolving threats.

The role emphasizes digital forensics, Windows/Linux admin skills, and strong communication to document threat assessments and findings. On-site work location in Los Alamos, NM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and 8+ years related experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux workstation/server management.
• Advanced knowledge of networks, protocols, and distributed systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to write reports.
• Experience conducting cyber and counterintelligence investigations with interagency partners.
• Knowledge of ICS/HMI vulnerabilities and cloud environments (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct cyber counterintelligence activities to protect DOE information, personnel, and assets.
• Support Cyber CI investigations with technical expertise and strategies.
• Review classified/unclassified reports and identify indicators of foreign targeting.
• Develop and apply cyber tools and best practices for CI missions.
• Collaborate with LANL cyber security teams and interagency partners.
• Draft and coordinate cyber intelligence reports with CSIRT/CI Center.
• Collect and conduct forensic examinations of digital media.
