About the Role:
We're looking for a talented Cyber Cloud Strategist to join our growing team! This role is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive transition of networks and applications, ensuring compliance with various federal directives and security standards. In this high-impact role, you'll provide technical expertise on computer security laws, mandates, standards, and policies in accordance with FISMA and NIST SPs.

Basic Requirements:
- 5+ years of technical experience designing and deploying secure, scalable cloud solutions
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or other related fields
- MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN AND RESIDE IN THE U.S. All work must be performed in the U.S.
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Public Trust U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as this work is for a federal government client. Candidates will need to successfully complete a Background Investigation (BI) and credit check prior to beginning work. Nothing in applicants' history should prevent them from obtaining a public trust security clearance.
Technical and Skills Requirements:
- 5+ years of related cybersecurity or cloud security experience. Architect and manage robust solutions on AWS and Azure, with specialized expertise in Government Cloud environments. Leverage tools like AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, and Ansible for seamless deployments.
- 2+ years of experience working with NIST, FISMA, and ATO processes: Proven track record of managing cloud security initiatives or programs and developing and executing cloud security roadmaps, strategies, and governance models.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud security architectures: Familiarity with public cloud solutions like AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as cloud security architectures, access controls, data encryption, and security best practices for virtual machines. Deep Understanding of networking, operating systems, security concepts, and scripting or programming languages (Python, SQL, PHP, PowerShell)
- Automation testing tools: Ensure code quality and security with automated testing frameworks and tools- Sonarqube, Cucumber, Jasmine, Selenium, Cypress. Ability to develop, execute, and optimize automated test scripts.
- Proficiency in relevant security and compliance frameworks: Deep expertise in NIST frameworks (e.g., 800-53, 800-30, 800-161), SOC2, ISO27001, PCI, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Innovative Problem Solving & Collaboration: Tackle complex issues with creative solutions and proactive improvements. Excel in Agile environments, collaborating effectively with stakeholders through strong communication and teamwork.
Strongly Preferred:
- Government sector experience, especially with DHS
- Current holder of public trust clearance.
- Master's degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or information security.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement cloud security strategies and policies: Defining the vision, mission, and goals for cloud security and ensuring alignment with the agency's overall strategic plan.
- Implement security controls and measures in cloud environments: Designing and integrating security controls into cloud architectures, including areas like access management, data encryption, and network security controls.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability management: Regularly assess security risks and vulnerabilities within cloud environments, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks and regulations: Maintain awareness of relevant security and privacy policies and regulations (such as NIST frameworks) and ensure USCIS' cloud deployments comply with these standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with IT professionals, lines of business, and external vendors to ensure cohesive security standards and facilitate secure cloud adoption. Advise senior leadership on cloud security best practices and emerging technologies, providing technical advice on IT issues with agency-wide impact.
- Lead and manage audits and incident response: Manage internal and external security audits, lead investigations into security breaches, and develop incident response plans for cloud environments.
