Job summary

ARCO a Family of Construction Companies is seeking a seasoned Cx Project Manager to join the Commissioning team in Chicago, IL. The role leads commissioning activities across diverse project types, with responsibility from pre-commissioning to final issue resolution.

You will drive client engagements, coordinate with design and field teams, and ensure high-quality turnkey handoffs. A mechanical/electrical engineering background and strong leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (with a focus in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in Mission Critical, Power Infrastructure, or Water Treatment preferred
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Strong understanding of HVAC, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and process engineering
• Familiarity with construction practices and principles
• Certification in building commissioning (QCxP, CCP, CxA or similar) preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning on mechanical, electrical, controls, and process systems.
• Act as commissioning lead for ARCO’s largest, most complex projects with pre-commissioning and functional testing.
• Coordinate with clients, operations staff, and turnover.
• Troubleshoot issues from discovery to final resolution with hands-on ownership.
• Coordinate design and installation between clients, subcontractors, and vendors for seamless turnover.
• Create pre-commissioning equipment checklists and commissioning test scripts.
• Lead project commissioning meetings and set schedules for all trades.
• Convey project status effectively to on-site superintendents and subcontractors.
