Job summary

ARCO/Murray’s Second Order Controls division in Chicago, IL seeks a seasoned Cx Project Manager to lead commissioning on high‑profile projects from design through turnover. You will own pre‑commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and process systems, coordinating with clients, trades, and vendors to ensure seamless handoffs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural preferred).
• 5+ years in Mission Critical, Power Infrastructure, or Water Treatment.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Strong engineering principles: HVAC, thermodynamics, heat transfer, process engineering.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Willing to spend ~50% on construction site.
• Familiar with construction practices.
• CxA/CCP/CxP or similar certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning on mechanical, electrical, controls, and process systems.
• Lead commissioning on ARCO’s largest, most complex projects with pre-commissioning, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with ARCO customers and end-users regarding status and turnover.
• Own issues from discovery through resolution with hands-on approach.
• Coordinate design and installation between clients, subcontractors, and vendors for seamless turnover.
• Create and execute pre-commissioning equipment checklists for quality installations.
• Develop commissioning test scripts to verify operation of installed systems.
• Lead project commissioning meetings to set expectations and schedules.
• Convey technical information effectively to on-site superintendents and subs.
