Job summary

Spectra Tech, Inc. in Tennessee seeks an inspector to provide staff augmentation for ORNL Welding Services, performing NDE and welding inspections on valves, vessels, ladders, piping, and structures. Role requires five years' experience and current CWI, ASNT Level II PT/VT; MT preferred.

You will work both in shop and field, sometimes solo or in teams, with CAD/isometric drafting. Strong communication and ability to document findings using reports and drawings; pass ORNL exam; fall protection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of welding inspection and NDE experience.
• AWS CWI certification plus ASNT SNT TC 1A Level II PT/VT.
• ASNT SNT TC 1A Level II MT yoke preferred.
• Working knowledge of ASNT, ASME B31, AWS B2.1, AWS D1.x, AWS D9.1 and boiler codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform NDE and welding examinations and inspections on valves, vessels, ladders, piping, and structural components.
• Work in shop and field environments, individually or in teams.
• Produce isometric sketches by hand or CAD for documentation.
• Prepare written reports and documentation per ORNL procedures.
