Job summary

MK Consulting Group is seeking a Structural Steel CWI to perform visual inspections and NDT coordination for large-scale fabrication projects in Raleigh, NC. Provide procedural oversight, document quality data, and ensure conformance to blueprints and codes.

The role requires CWI certification, 2–5+ years of structural steel experience, and the ability to work in industrial environments while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of NDT methods and their interpretation.
• Ability to read and interpret structural blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
• Proficiency with welding processes (FCAW, GMAW, SMAW) and related math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect structural steel joints, fit-ups, and assemblies before, during, and after welding to check surface defects and dimensional accuracy.
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols to verify compliance with specifications.
• Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1, AISC, and ASTM standards.
