Job summary

Veritas Steel is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for our Palatka, FL fabrication shop to support third shift operations. You will coordinate between production and DOT Inspectors to ensure QC hold points are met, perform visual inspections, layout checks, and welding parameter monitoring to maintain compliance with WPS and project codes.

Qualified candidates hold a CWI or ASNT VT II, with NACE/SSPC Level I preferred, and fabrication shop experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector Certification or ASNT VT Level II required.
• NACE or SSPC Level I preferred.
• Fabrication shop background beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate QC hold points between production and DOT Inspectors.
• Conduct audits of Quality Management System to ensure compliant work flow.
• Perform visual inspections, layout checks, and dimensional verifications on shop parts and assemblies.
• Monitor welding parameters and ensure conformance to WPS; read and interpret welding codes and specs.
• Maintain logs and prepare required QC reports; communicate results to supervisors and welders.
• Work with supervisors to plan shop workflow and coordinate inspections for loads ready to ship.
