Job summary

Cactus Companies in Houston, TX seeks a qualified accounting professional responsible for daily and monthly close activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting in support of the Corporate Controller.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting, GAAP knowledge, 3–4 years of general ledger/financial reporting experience, CPA candidate, and strong Excel/Word skills; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly close activities including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and financial statement analytics.
• Monitor intercompany balances and report monthly, quarterly and annual results.
• Assist with external financial reporting as needed.
• Assist with internal and external audits (SOX and PBCs).
• Support Corporate Controller and CFO with special projects and process improvements.
• Ensure all monthly, quarterly, and annual assignments are completed on time.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for daily and monthly accounting and reporting activities in support of the Corporate Controller.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

• Comply with all quality, safety, health, environmental requirements, policies and procedures relevant to the position.
• Conducts monthly close activities such as preparing account reconciliations and journal entries
• Prepares Balance Sheet reconciliations and provides financial statement analytics
• Monitors and reconciles intercompany balances
• Prepares financial package, including trend analysis; prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Assists with external financial reporting as needed
• Assists with internal audit to complete SOX requirements
• Assists with external audit to complete PBC’s related items for quarterly reviews and annual audit.
• Supports Corporate Controller, Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Officer with special projects and workflow process improvements
• All monthly, quarterly, and annual assignments to be performed on a timely basis to meet all operational deadlines.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Public accounting experience a plus
• At least 3-4 years’ experience in the general ledger/financial reporting/internal controls/process area

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: CPA/CPA candidate required.
