Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana is seeking an IT Auditor Intern to support the IT Audit department and gain hands-on experience during mandated and risk-based audits. The role is based in Louisiana with flexibility around schedule and hours during the spring, summer and fall terms.

The ideal candidate is pursuing or has completed degrees in IS/CS/Data Analytics/Accounting or Finance, with strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Must be a junior/senior undergraduate, Master's level or recent graduate in ISDS, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Accounting or Finance.
• Preferred: GPA 3.0+; minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Relevant Audit or IT coursework/experience preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access or other IT tools is a plus.
• Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication abilities.
• Must demonstrate analytical thinking and present ideas professionally.
• Undergraduates must be able to work 20 hours/week in spring/fall and 30-35 hours/week in summer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning, coordination and execution of IT audits and reviews to evaluate internal control design, implementation and operating effectiveness.
• Create/update documentation of IT controls.
• Perform detail testing for IT audits and AFRMR project to ensure completion of the departmental audit plan.
• Communicate risks and deficiencies to management by successfully communicating audit recommendations.

The IT Auditor Intern will support the IT Audit department and develop audit skills during mandated and risk-based audits.

• Perform detail testing for IT audits and the Annual Financial Reporting Model Regulation (AFRMR) project to ensure completion of the departmental audit plan.
• Communicate risks and deficiencies to management by successfully communicating audit recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• Degree program(s) / Current Status: junior or senior level undergraduate, Master’s level or recent graduate in desired area of Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS), Computer Science, Data Analytics, Accounting orFinance.
• Preferred: ISDS or Internal Audit Specialization Cumulative GPA: 3.0+ GPA preferred; minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.
• Relevant Coursework: Audit or IT coursework and/or experience is strongly preferred.
• Other Qualifications: Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access or other IT tools is a plus.
• Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication abilities.
