CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy is seeking a Charge RN to oversee a department of frontline nurses and advocate for staff development in a dynamic acute care environment.

You will be accountable for performance, communication, and tough conversations while driving quality outcomes and clinical excellence to ensure safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN nursing program.
• Registered Nurse: NE (RN:NE).
• Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - within 5 months.

Responsabilités

• Oversee staffing, scheduling, staff development, certification tracking, and performance management.
• Assist with budget goals, payroll monitoring, and resource utilization.
• Promote departmental goals, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, staff communication, education, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain clinical expertise, serve as a specialty resource, and model professional and clinical excellence while ensuring quality patient care.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Charge RN, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

Human Resources Management

• Supports staffing, scheduling, staff development, certification tracking, and performance management activities.

Fiscal Management

• Assists with budget goals, payroll monitoring, and responsible resource utilization.

Leadership

• Promotes departmental goals, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, staff communication, education, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Clinical Competence

Pay Range

$36.94 - $53.56 /hour
