Job summary

Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center in Central Point, Oregon seeks a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) – Surgery to join our 24/7 specialty team. You will advance anesthesia skills while working on orthopedic, soft tissue, and emergency cases, supported by a board-certified team.

We offer a consistent three-day work week with 12-hour shifts, competitive hourly pay, and bonuses/relocation options for Oregon-licensed CVTs.

Qualifications

CVT required; Oregon CVT license preferred for bonus eligibility.
Strong interest in veterinary anesthesia and surgery.
Passion for anesthesia pharmacology, sterile technique, and patient advocacy.
Previous surgical or anesthesia experience preferred.
Detail-oriented and able to stay calm during complex procedures.
Comfort with advanced surgical and anesthesia equipment.
Strong clinical judgment and attention to patient safety.
Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for orthopedic, soft tissue, and emergency procedures.
Induction, maintenance, monitoring, and recovery of anesthesia.
Develop multimodal anesthesia and analgesia plans with veterinarians.
Monitor anesthetized patients with multiparameter equipment and intervene as needed.
Assist with mechanical ventilation and advanced anesthetic support.
Prepare surgical suites, instruments, and maintain sterile technique.
Assist veterinarians during procedures and anticipate team needs.
Support advanced procedures and gain hands-on with arthroscopy and CT.
Provide postoperative monitoring, pain management, and recovery care.
Educate owners on surgical prep, recovery, and postoperative care.
Maintain accurate anesthesia, surgical, medication, and patient records.
