Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist for a hospital operating room position in Columbia, SC. The role requires NBSTSA certification, BLS, and prior cardiovascular surgery experience. SCRUB role only and on-call expectations accompany a 4x10 shift schedule.

The candidate should have completed a Surgical Technology program (or U.S. Armed Forces Surgical Technologist training) and have EPIC EMR experience.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years CVOR experience required.
• BLS and NBSTSA certifications required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Armed Forces training.
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience.
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures including angioplasty/stenting, aortic aneurysm repair, and CABG.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique, radiation safety, sharps safety, specimen handling/labeling, and universal protocol.

Responsibilities

• Hospital CVOR setting supporting cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• On-call requirements vary by vascular and heart specialty, including weekend coverage.
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on facility census needs.
• Scrub role only (not circulating).
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as local candidates.
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application, with approval based on facility needs.
• Orientation occurs every Monday along with annual compliance training.
• Pre-assignment testing and required modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials.
• Facility goal is to keep staff in their home unit, though floating to other qualified units may be required due to census needs.
