Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a Level II Trauma Center with strong CVOR experience and at least 2 years of nursing experience for first-time travelers.

Requirements include active AL or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, extensive CVOR and trauma experience, and robotics exposure (Mazor/DaVinci XI). Travel orientation and on-call duties apply; housing and reimbursements available.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (AL or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CVOR experience required with case types including open heart, CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and ECMO
• Strong experience in trauma (excluding burns), neuro, general, vascular, ENT, ortho spine, ortho (total joint experience), GYN, endovascular, urology, robotics (general and neuro), plastics, breasts, and eyes
• Robotics experience (Mazor or DaVinci XI) preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required for first-time travelers

Responsibilities

• Surgery unit with 15 OR beds, 2 dedicated to CVOR
• Patient population includes open heart, CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, sternotomy, thoracotomy/thoracoscopy, VATS, and ECMO cases, with minimal pediatric ortho cases
• 1:1 patient ratio
• 10-hour day shifts starting at 6:00AM, 40 hours per week
• On-call required: one weekday and one weekend per month (Friday 3p-7a, Saturday 24hr, Sunday 24hr), approximately 10 days of call per month with 30-minute response time
• No floating required
• Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
• Facility is a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center
• Unit support includes an ORA, desk assistant, charge nurse, and team leaders for service lines
• Orientation is 2 weeks on day shift, with expectation to take buddy call during orientation
• Holiday coverage required per contract terms
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Candidates with less than 2 years of experience will not be considered, but first-time travelers with 2+ years are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
