Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Surgery
  • Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift
  • Hospital: Columbia St. Mary's
  • Location: Milwaukee, WI
What You Will Do

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

  • Prepare the surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instrument counts throughout procedures.
  • Assist surgeons with the provision of hemostasis during surgery.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
Additional Preferences

Surgical Tech experience is preferred.

CVOR experience preferred.

Completion of a Surgical Technology Program is strongly preferred.
