Job summary

Mission Hospital is seeking a CVOR Registered Nurse PRN to join a high-volume cardiovascular operating room team. The position offers self-scheduling, collaboration with a multidisciplinary staff, and on-call coverage for select hours, including weekends and holidays.

Ambulatory and inpatient CVOR procedures are performed in a six-room suite with complex cases. Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year CVOR nursing experience, an AND/RN license in North Carolina, and BLS/ACLS certification;

• Required Experience: 1+ years of CVOR nursing experience
• Required Education: Associates Degree in Nursing
• Preferred Education: Master's in Nursing
• Required License: North Carolina RN license (eNLC may apply) and BLS/ACLS certification

Responsibilities

• Self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance for predictability
• Rounding with unit leaders to provide input on patient care and workflow
• On-call during select non-business hours
• Support open heart and thoracic procedures in a high-volume CVOR

Job Summary and Qualifications

Schedule: PRN, looking for 2-6 shifts per pay period. Bi-weekly.

Call:Weekend and holiday call required, can be discussed.

The CVOR at Mission Hospital in Asheville is a fast paced, efficient operating room. One of the busiest in the Southeast and performs the most surgeries, per surgeon, of any hospital in the state. It is a 6-room operating suite (included in that is 1 Hybrid room) with four surgeons operating. We perform Open-Heart procedures such as; CABG, Aortic Valve Replacement, Mitral Valve Repair/Replace, Tricuspid Valve Repair, Dissections, Tavr’s, etc. We also perform Thoracic Surgeries (Lung). We do not perform transplants, robotic, or pediatric surgery.

Position Details:

• Self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance for you to have predictability in your schedule
• Culture of mutual respect and collaboration among all surgical staff
• Continuous investment in equipment including surgical instruments, devices and patient positioning for you to do your best work with patient safety and workflow efficiency in the Operating Room
• Rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your voice is heard on suggestions for patient care and surgical workflow improvement
• On-call is required during select non-business hours

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Experience:1+ years of CVOR nursing experience
• Required Education:Associates Degree in Nursing.
• Preferred Education:Master's in Nursing.
• Preferred Certification:National Certification in area of specialty
• Required License:Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON
• Required Certification:BLS and ACLS
