Job summary

A healthcare organization in Mason City is seeking a Registered Nurse – CVOR. This role involves providing specialized perioperative nursing care for open-heart and cardiovascular surgical procedures, requiring collaboration with surgical teams. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of CVOR or open-heart surgery experience and an active RN license. This is an onsite position with a competitive pay rate of $72.07 per hour and a contract duration of 3 months.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of CVOR or open-heart surgery experience required.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state license or compact license).

Responsibilities

Perform scrub duties, including selection, handling, and management of surgical instruments and supplies.
Perform circulating duties, including monitoring patient status and managing overall nursing care before, during, and after procedures.
Assist surgeons directly with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and equipment for scheduled procedures.
Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with OR safety standards.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiology, and perioperative team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Document perioperative care accurately and in a timely manner.
