Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a CVICU travel nurse for a Glenview, IL assignment. The RN will provide care in a cardiovascular ICU, handling open-heart surgery and heart transplant patients, with 12-hour night shifts and a 36-hour weekly schedule.

Immediate start preferred and 1–2 years of acute care experience is ideal. Requirements include ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• NIH certification mentioned as requirement.
• Travel nursing assignment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to CVICU patients.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Take samples for diagnostic tests and interpret results.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy, and IV protocols.
• Respond to emergencies and perform CPR with defibrillators.
• Educate patients and families on recovery at home.
