Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a CVICU travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Peoria, IL. The role requires 36 hours per week, with 12-hour night shifts and ASAP start. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience and the willingness to meet travel requirements.

As a CVICU RN, you will care for patients after major cardiac procedures, administer medications, and assist with urgent care needs in a fast-paced environment. Strong coping skills and patient-focused care are essential.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS required.
• 2 years of acute care experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to patients with potentially life-threatening heart conditions.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications.
• Take samples for diagnostic tests; order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols.
• Be called in for emergencies to provide CPR and operate defibrillators hospital-wide.
• Educate patients and family members on how to manage recovery at home.
