Job summary
Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for weekend shifts to provide nurse-led patient care across the admission to discharge continuum. You will assess patients, organize data, and collaborate with the care team to develop and execute evidence-based plans of care.
Required are a BSN (or ADN with commitment to BSN within 3 years), Illinois RN license, and BLS. Strong interpersonal skills and analytical abilities are essential to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required/preferred
- Current State of Illinois RN license required
- American Heart Association BLS required
- ADN acceptable with plan to obtain BSN within 3 years
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others
- Strong analytic abilities
Responsibilities
- Assess and record patient status upon admission or point of care.
- Organize health data for accurate, complete, accessible records.
- Identify problems needing immediate attention and escalate appropriately.
- Validate diagnoses with patient/family and care team.
- Document diagnoses to support outcomes and care plans.
- Initiate and update Plan of Care with age-specific considerations.
- Document patient care and progression toward outcomes.
- Coordinate discharge planning with patient/family and care team.
- Provide patient education grounded in evidence-based practice.
- Collaborate at multidisciplinary meetings for care planning.
