Job summary

Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse in CVICU for post-cardiothic and cardiovascular surgery patients. The role covers 22 ICU beds and 20 step-down beds, with a focus on high-acuity cardiac cases and devices such as ECMO and LVAD.

The nurse collaborates with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes and compassionate care. The position requires 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience, current RN licensure, and BCLS; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensed to practice in applicable state.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.
• ACLS/PALS preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process.
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor effects.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams for care plans.
• Respond to medical emergencies and participate in code situations.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care.
