Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced CVICU RN for the new 8-bed CVICU and Open Heart Surgery Program at Baptist South. You will train at the Jacksonville campus before transitioning to the new unit and help define clinical practices and workflows.

You will work in a dynamic cardiovascular critical-care team, caring for post‑operative cardiac patients, and advancing cardiovascular care through collaboration and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Active Registered Nurse license in Florida or eligible.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• CVICU or cardiovascular ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly specialized care to critically ill cardiovascular and postoperative cardiac surgery patients.
• Care for patients immediately following open-heart and cardiovascular procedures.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and rapidly recognize changes in patient condition.
• Monitor invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic data and adjust care accordingly.
• Manage vasoactive and inotropic medications and support mechanical ventilation when needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, pharmacists, respiratory therapy and the care team.
