Job summary

St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky is seeking a Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology Technologist (CVI/Rad Tech) to assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular procedures and operate specialized imaging equipment.

You will ensure patient safety, verify identities, perform quality control, and collaborate with cardiology and radiology teams. CAHEA radiography education and ARRT CV/VI certification within 12 months are required, with BLS/ACLS and state license.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a CAHEA accredited radiography program or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of experience in healthcare/clinical setting.
  • ARRT CV or VI certification obtained within 12 months, BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, active state radiographer license.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular procedures and operate imaging equipment.
  • Verify patient identity, clinical history, and orders prior to procedures.
  • Label medications on/off sterile field with proper identification.
  • Circulate in the procedure room and procure equipment.
  • Perform quality control to ensure proper equipment operation.

Operates specialized imaging equipment to support diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Ensures patient safety and comfort throughout procedures. Collaborates with healthcare teams to deliver diagnostic and therapeutic services. Adheres to established protocols and regulatory standards. ## Essential Functions• Greets, informs, and prepares patients for vascular, cardiac, or interventional procedures.• Verifies patient identity, clinical history, and orders prior to procedures, participating in Universal Protocol.• Labels all medications on and off the sterile field with proper identification.• Circulates within the procedure room and procures necessary equipment.• Performs quality control procedures to ensure proper equipment operation.• Assists and performs procedures with cardiologists, radiologists, and vascular surgeons.• Operates imaging equipment proficiently and recognizes operational problems.• Interprets hemodynamics and utilizes the Whitt Monitor.• Demonstrates competency in venipuncture and administers contrast media as prescribed.• Performs other duties as assigned. ## Education RequirementGraduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited radiography program or equivalent. ## Experience Requirement0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.All experience must be paid and in the same related field.Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted. ## Certifications & LicensuresAmerican Registry of Radiological Technologists in Cardiovascular Intervention (ARRT) with ARRT Cardiovascular Intervention (CV) or Vascular Intervention (VI) certification obtained within 12 months, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale certified, Active applicable state radiographer license ## Working ConditionsA.
