Job Title

CVD Technician I - Responsible for the setup and operation of CVD furnaces. Develops and handles hazardous chemicals related to products and equipment. Performs preventative maintenance and operates various machine equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Load and unload CVD furnaces independently.
  2. Disassemble and re-line CVD furnaces independently.
  3. Perform limited furnace maintenance, including replacing insulation, heating elements, and other components.
  4. Monitor and adjust CVD furnaces during coating processes.
  5. Operate and shut down CVD furnaces during emergency situations (e.g., power loss, natural events).
  6. Perform minor preventative maintenance on equipment (e.g., oil changes, filter replacements, valve repairs).
  7. Operate equipment for grinding graphite and/or silicon carbide (e.g., lathe, drill press, surface grinder).
  8. Review job orders to determine quantity, specifications, and special instructions.
  9. Safely operate forklifts to transport hazardous chemicals.
  10. Install and uninstall hazardous chemicals into tanks.
  11. Troubleshoot quality issues and identify root causes during the process.
  12. Always wear required personal protective equipment in mandatory areas.
Job Requirements

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of reactor operation methods (start-up, shut-down).
  • Knowledge of temperature, pressure, voltage, current, and gas flow control.
  • Familiarity with various valves.
  • Ability to write and maintain log sheets.
  • Knowledge of processing and removing graphite.
  • Experience with loading raw materials.
  • Adherence to working standards.
