Lexington Health, Inc. in Columbia, SC seeks a Student Cardiovascular Sonographer to assist with scheduling, performing, and processing echo and vascular ultrasound exams under direct supervision. Tasks are assigned by the Cardiovascular Educator, and direct patient care is performed only under supervision.
The role emphasizes learning, registry progression, and cross-training in echo and vascular labs, with ongoing education and safety training as part of the program.

The role of the Student Cardiovascular Sonographer is to become proficient at all functions required to schedule, perform and process echo and/or vascular ultrasound examinations under the direction of the Cardiovascular Educator. When the student is working on campus (versus being a student in clinical rotation), the Cardiovascular Educator they are assigned to will decide what tasks the Student Cardiovascular Sonographer shall perform. At no time will the Student Cardiovascular Sonographer provide direct patient care without their assigned Cardiovascular Educator. The job responsibilities for a Student Cardiovascular Sonographer must be performed under direct supervision of a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer or other necessary medical supervision.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent;
Actively enrolled in an accredited Cardiovascular Program
Minimum Years of Experience: None.
Substitutable Education & Experience: None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Must be certified in CPR or certified within 3 months of employment, Bi- annual CPR recertification required;
Required Training:
Maintain CEU’s;
Annual mandatory Safety and Infection Control training on Synquest;
Competency skills maintenance in performing Echo and Vascular Studies .
Must possess excellent understanding of medical terminology.
