Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a CV Invasive Specialist 2 to independently perform diagnostic and interventional procedures under physician direction. The role ensures proper preparation, use, and maintenance of cath lab equipment and environment, supporting patient care in alignment with hospital values.

On-call shifts may be required. The position requires completing a technical program in Cardiovascular Technology or allied health, with BLS/ACLS and RCIS or ARRT credentials as applicable.

Qualifications

• Completion of a technical program in Cardiovascular Technology or allied health.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• RCIS or ARRT licensure is preferred or required by state or certifying bodies.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and clean equipment for procedures in the department or bedside.
• Operate hemodynamic monitoring systems and record data.
• Prepare patients for procedures and monitor vital signs.
• Support data collection and documentation of patient records.
• Maintain stock levels and ensure equipment is functional.
• Respond to callbacks when on call within the department time frame.
• Perform incidental tasks in an efficient, professional manner.

CV Invasive Specialist 2 (260003NR)

The CV Invasive Specialist 2 independently performs a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures under the direction of physicians. This role ensures appropriate preparation, use and maintenance of the cath lab or procedural environment and equipment. This role supports patient care activities in accordance with the values of Tampa General Hospital. Performs duties incidental to the work described within. On-call shifts may be required.

Essential Functions

• Independently assists in set‑up, operation, and cleaning of equipment for procedures performed in the department and/or bedside.
• Operates hemodynamic monitoring systems and records procedural data.
• Prepares patients for procedures and monitors vital signs.
• Supports data collection and documentation of patient records.
• Maintains stock levels for supplies and ensures equipment is functional.
• Responds to callbacks when on call within the established department time frame.
• Performs incidental tasks as assigned in an efficient and professional manner.

Qualifications

Education

• Technical Program- Cardiovascular TechnologyOr
• Technical Program- Allied Health Program

Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Or
• General Radiographer by the State of Florida and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
