Qualifications

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Cardiovascular Electrophysiology (CV/EP) Technician to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN.

Join a supporting, experienced, multi-modality team that performed over 4,000 procedures in 2021. As a CV/EP Tech, you will work in both the CV and EP rooms, assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures such as tilt tables, TAVR, WATCHMAN, and Robotic PCI. Your responsibilities include assisting with procedures, providing diagnostic testing, collecting data, performing scrub roles, and supporting cardiologists.

Schedule: This position is full-time (80 hours every two weeks) with 10-hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Rotating call responsibilities include one weeknight per week and every third weekend.

As a CV/EP Tech, your responsibilities include:

  • Safely operating equipment: monitor/recording devices, calibrating pressure transducers, troubleshooting ECG issues, operating C-arm controls, maintaining POC testing equipment, and adhering to radiation safety principles.
  • Collecting and maintaining patient data: entering demographics, recording data, archiving procedures, ensuring accurate billing data, and assessing patient pulses and rhythms.
  • Assisting cardiologists: scrubbing in for procedures, preparing patients, maintaining sterile technique, and manipulating catheters and wires.
  • Completing core EP duties: operating EP recording and mapping systems, using RF ablation equipment, calculating cardiac metrics, and monitoring EP procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited allied health education program.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Within one year: obtain CVT, RTR, RCIS, or RCES certification.

Preferred Experience:

  • 1-3 years as a Cardiovascular Technologist.
