Job summary

AmerCable, a leading cable manufacturer, seeks a CV Catenary Operator to set up and run the upstairs catenary machine in a dynamic, safety-focused team. You will produce high-quality jacketed electrical cables for mining and oil/gas applications at the El Dorado facility, following SOPs and training to ensure on-spec products.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2-year associate degree or manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year Associate Degree, WAGE Certification, or manufacturing experience.
• Good reading comprehension and basic math skills.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Ability to operate a workstation computer.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment and move material.
• Ability to pass the lift truck operator safety course.
• Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the upstairs catenary machine per specifications.
• Follow plant safety rules and work instructions.
• Produce quality products per SOPs and training.
• Maintain ISO 9001 and 5S compliance.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
• Help meet On-Time-To-Warehouse dates and 5S goals.
• Suggest improvements to setup times where possible.
• Follow Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards.
• Take direction from supervisors and perform other duties as assigned.

Impact of this Role

As a CV Catenary Operator, you play a direct role in producing high-quality electrical cable for the mining and oil/gas industries. You will set up and operate the upstairs catenary machine, helping ensure cable is produced to required specifications while maintaining a safe, quality-focused production environment.

What Success Looks Like

• Set up and operate the upstairs catenary machine to produce electrical cable to required specifications.
• Work safely and follow all plant rules, safety standards, and safe work practices.
• Produce quality products using work instructions, SOPs, One-Point Lessons, and other training.
• Sustain ISO 9001 requirements and comply with 5S standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding cable production.
• Help meet On-Time-To-Warehouse dates and 5S goals.
• Look for opportunities to improve setup times where possible.
• Follow the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards.
• Take direction from supervisors and perform other duties as requested.

What You Bring to the Role

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year Associate Degree, WAGE Certification, or manufacturing experience.
• Good reading comprehension and basic math skills.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Ability to operate a workstation computer.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment and physically move material.
• Ability to use stairs to access the upstairs operator area.
• Ability to pass the lift truck operator safety course.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays.
