Job summary

Stellantis Financial Services in Michigan is seeking a Cutting Tool Supervisor to lead small teams in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. The role focuses on resolving processing constraints through problem-solving, preventative maintenance, and tool optimization, while developing tooling standards and coordinating tool changes.

The position requires interfacing with engineering and production, managing tooling costs, sourcing tools, and scheduling maintenance to ensure safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering field or equivalent with Journeyman status and manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with advanced problem-solving tools.
• Ability to interface with hourly employees through senior leadership across the plant.
• Goal-oriented, self-starter capable of leading and coordinating in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Interface with manufacturing to resolve processing issues via preventative maintenance or tool changes.
• Develop and maintain tool standards, tool drawings, and tool records.
• Identify critical spare components, establish inventory, and replenish system.
• Manage all costs for initial builds and audit changes to ensure lowest cost per unit.
• Research alternate tooling sources for better cost, quality, and delivery.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering during tool tryouts to ensure tool effectiveness.
• Manage changes to tools and coordinate transfers on new tooling.
• Participate in program teams to source new tooling and track build timing against master schedule.
• Ensure a safe workplace and lead the team to improve safety and enforce safety procedures.
