Job summary

Sandvik is seeking a Product Design and R&D Engineer to drive development of cutting tool solutions from concept to production. You will evaluate emerging technologies, materials, coatings, and digital tools, and collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and external partners to bring innovative products to market.

You will lead tool design for solid carbide, carbide-tipped, ceramic, PCD, CBN, and specialty tools, develop test plans, analyze results, and support transitions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
• 5+ years in product development, R&D, manufacturing, or cutting tool design.
• Advanced knowledge of metal cutting and CAD/CAM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of cutting tool products from concept through commercialization.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies, materials, coatings, and processes.
• Design and optimize solid carbide, carbide-tipped, ceramic, PCD, CBN tools.
• Develop and validate product performance via lab and production tests.
• Create test plans, analyze results, and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to transition products into production.
• Prepare technical reports and product documentation.
