Job summary

Orc Group - now part of Broadridge Trading and Connectivity Solutions is seeking personnel for fabric cutting operations in our La Crosse, WI facility. The role involves setting up and running fabric cutting machines and spreading fabric according to production needs.

Responsibilities include following work instructions to ensure quality, training operators, and maintaining safe, orderly cutting room practices.

Qualifications

• Three to six months experience with fabric cutting.
• Ability to use measuring instruments and perform fabric layout and cutting machine operation.
• Adherence to safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out and use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate fabric cutting machines and perform fabric spreading operations as required.
• Follow work instructions to ensure product quality and report issues to minimize rework.
• Train and assist cutting room personnel with operations.
• Monitor inventories of raw materials to meet production schedules.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform routine maintenance on cutting tools and equipment.
• Adhere to safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out, and use PPE as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Under general supervision, sets up and operates various production fabric cutting machines; may spread/lay-out fabric material and perform cutting operations of varying degrees of complexity or design. 1. Sets up and performs varying degrees of fabric spreading operations, to include machine fabric cutting operations as assigned and required by product line operations; may be required to perform minor set-up and/or adjustments to cutting machines; 2. Responsible for following work operation procedures to ensure work and product quality; reports quality issues immediately to minimize rework and downtime; 3. Trains and assists cutting room personnel with all operations required.

• Monitors inventories of raw materials and in-process materials to ensure adequate inventory to meet available production schedules;

maintains a clean-as-you-go work process in the cutting room area; performs routine equipment installation and maintenance of cutting tools and equipment; 5. Must be able to adhere and follow all safety procedures, i.e., lock-out/tag-out; report safety concerns, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow similar safety practices; 6. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Three to six months experience working in an industrial/business in material/fabric cutting; may require the use of measuring instruments and the ability to perform fabric layout and cutting machine operation and maintenance.
