Job summary

Digital Room in Brooklyn, OH is seeking a Cutter Operator for the plant. The role is on 3rd shift, Sunday-Thursday, 10pm-6am, with a $2.00 shift differential. You will operate Polar or Heidelberg cutting machines, load jobs, and follow cutting programs to meet specifications.

Responsibilities include monitoring the cutter, making adjustments for speed and accuracy, troubleshooting issues, recording production data, and maintaining safety at all times. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience with Polar or Heidelberg cutting machines and general printing.
• Ability to measure and count accurately.
• Knowledge of cutting programs on machines.
• Attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Effective communication with supervisor and co-workers.
• Safely use hand/power tools.
• Multi-task with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Access IMS program to determine priority jobs and set workload for the day.
• Place printed jobs on the jogger to align and weigh according to job specifications.
• Align the prepared batch inside the cutter to select a cutting program to follow.
• Follow the cutting program cutting from the biggest measurement to the smallest measurement.
• Monitor the assigned machine during each cut to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as needed to maintain specifications and operating speed.
• Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve them if possible, and notify the Bindery Supervisor/Plant Management.
• Replace worn cutting blades with hand tools when required.
• Keep accurate press sheet information in Logbooks with dates and counts.
• Record production and operational data, such as the number of materials processed.
• Report any and all workplace hazards to management immediately.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstations are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
• Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
• Must be proactive with completing other duties as assigned.
