Job summary

Wurtec is seeking a Cut to Length Supervisor in Toledo, OH to lead daily warehouse operations, supervise a dedicated team, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time deliveries. The role emphasizes KPI achievement and adherence to Wurtec core values.

The supervisor will report to the Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Processes, Repair & Services, and will train staff, optimize workflows, and coordinate with the ERP Epicor system and shipping software. Full-time, in-person, with travel of 5% or less.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Strong computer skills with ability to learn ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate new Cut to Length staff and ensure policies are followed.
• Improve processes to increase efficiency, safety, and KPIs.
• Use ERP system and third-party shipping software to set up and track shipments.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or defects.
• Full-time/in-person attendance is required.
• All other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Cut to Length Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of his team to ensure customer satisfaction and a safe working environment.

Essential Duties

• Supervises employees to ensure they are working in a safe and efficient manner to meet customer deadlines.
• Review timeliness of scheduled deliveries and track KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Track inventory levels of all shipping/receiving supplies and replenish as needed.
• Ensure that facility equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
• Train and evaluate new Cut to Length Support workers and ensure all company policies are followed.
• Constantly work to improve processes to increase efficiency, maintain safety, and meet KPIs.
• Use company ERP system and third-party shipping software to set up and track shipments.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage or defects to ensure quality.
• Full-time/in-person attendance is an essential function of this job.

Technical Skills

Work Environment

This role primarily operates in a warehouse environment that is not climate controlled and the noise level is described as moderate. The nature of this role described as heavy work and constant lifting to 10 lbs., frequent lifting up to 75 lbs., and occasionally lifts up to 100 lbs. The job holder is exposed to uneven ground, vibration, oils, and moving mechanical parts. The use of limbs is required to operate equipment. This role requires standing for long periods of time, alternating between sitting and standing, kneeling, neck rotation, pushing, reaching, stooping/twisting, climbing, crouching, driving, grasping/gripping, picking pulling, pushing, stooping / twisting, crouching, driving, grasping/gripping, picking/pinching, reaching overhead, and squatting. Near and far visual acuity, and the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech is required. This role is not eligible to considered for remote work.
